Booking.com takes 15–25% of every booking. Airbnb takes 14–20%. On a $200/night stay through an OTA, you keep $150–170. Through your own booking engine on Vortex PMS, you keep $194 (after Stripe's $5.80). Over a year, the OTAs cost you a part-time salary; the booking engine costs you nothing extra.
